Recommended Action

Adoption of resolution realigning $200,000.00 from the Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17) Air Quality - Tag Fee (AQTF) Fund Reserve Program to the Air Quality Program for expenditures not reimbursable through grants or otherwise restricted.

Body

Strategic Plan:

Practice Superior Environmental Stewardship
3.3 Protect and improve the quality of our water, air, and other natural resources

Deliver First Class Services to the Public and Our Customers
5.2 Be responsible stewards of the public’s resources

Summary:

This resolution realigns $200,000 within the AQTF Fund to support the division’s goal of protecting and improving the quality of our air for the residents and visitors of Pinellas County.

Background Information:

This resolution is in keeping with the desire to use non-General Fund revenues to fund operations when allowed. This fund has budgeted reserves of more than 57% of revenue in FY17, well above the goal of 20%. This amendment is not consistent with the current year estimate provided during the FY18 budget development process.

Fiscal Impact:

This resolution will transfer $200,000 from the AQTF Fund Reserves Program to the Air Quality Program within Parks & Conservation Resources - Air Quality Division as outlined in the attached Budget Resolution.
