Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the second amendment (Amendment) to the agreement (Agreement) with Robin Collier d/b/a Sprinklermatic Fire Protection Systems, Inc. for requirements of fire protection systems maintenance and repairs.

                     The current sixty-month Agreement was awarded by the County Administrator on December 7, 2018, in the amount of $1,096,800.00 and terminates December 23, 2023.

                     The Agreement provides Countywide facilities with routine safety testing, inspection, certification, and repair services, for fire protection systems as required.

                     This Amendment requests an increase to the contract in the amount of $150,000.00 for services through the duration of the Agreement. There were several major repairs required recently necessitating this amendment request.  Pricing and conditions remain the same as awarded.  

                     Funding is derived from various department operating budgets.

Summary:

This Amendment requests an increase of $150,000.00  provide Countywide facilities with required, routine safety testing, inspection, certification and repair services, for fire protection systems as and when required.

 

Background/Explanation:

On December 7th, 2018, the County Administrator approved the award of bid in the amount of $1,096,800.00.

On July 23, 2019, the Purchasing Director approved Change Order No.1, which changed the contract MSRP less discount to cost plus pricing.

On February 25, 2022, the Division Director of Purchasing & Risk approved the First Amendment adding additional locations with no change to the contract amount.

 

Fiscal Impact:

 

Contract No. 178-0431-B increase in the amount of $150,000.00, for a revised total contract value of $1,246,800.00 with an estimated average annual expenditure of $249, 360.00 effective through December 23, 2023.

 

Approved expenditure to date:                                           $1,096,800.00                     

Increase expenditure not-to-exceed:                      $   150,000.00

Revised expenditure not-to-exceed:                     $1,246,800.00

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve this amendment is granted under Code Section 2-188(a).
