Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Second Amendment to the agreement with U.S. Submergent Technologies, LLC for wastewater grit removal services.

 

                     This contract provides grit removal services at various County locations.

                     The Second Amendment increases the contract in the amount of $150,000.00 for a revised not to exceed total of $2,226,220.00. The contract allows for annual CPI increases or 2% whichever is less. This increase provides sufficient funding to accommodate CPI increases for 2023 and 2024.

                     This agreement was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on August 24, 2021, in the amount of $2,076,220.00. The First Amendment was approved by the Purchasing Director on September 2, 2022, to modify the payment schedule with no change to the total amount of contract.

                     This contract is established as a maintenance, repair, and operating contract of which the County Administrator may approve increases up to 50% of the original award amount per County Code 2-184 (b).

                     Funding is included in the FY24 Adopted Budgets of Utilities in the Sewer Revenue and Operating Fund. Funding is also included in the FY25 Budget and will be included in future years.

Summary:

The Second Amendment increases the contract by $150,000.00 for a new contract total of $2,226,220.00. The contract allows for annual CPI increases or 2% whichever is less. This increase will fund CPI increases for 2023 and 2024.

 

Background/Explanation:

This agreement was approved by the Board of County Commissioners on August 24, 2021, in the amount of $2,001,220.00. The First Amendment was approved by the Purchasing Director on September 2, 2022, to modify the payment schedule with no increase to the total contract amount.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approved sixty (60)-month expenditure not to exceed:                                          $2,076,220.00

Second Amendment increase:                                                                                                         $   150,000.00

Revised sixty (60)-month expenditure not to exceed:                                          $2,226,220.00

 

Funding is included in the FY24 Adopted Budgets of Utilities in the Sewer Revenue and Operating Fund. Funding is also included in the FY25 Budget and will be included in future years.
