Approval and execution by the County Administrator of a two (2) year renewal option and increase to the piggyback contract with Fastenal Company for MRO Supplies.
• State of Florida Contract No. 31160000-25-NASPO-ACS has been extended by the State through August 31, 2028, and this amendment co-terms the County’s piggyback contract with the state contract adding $1.1M as needed through the contract duration.
• Per County Code 2-164(b)(1), the County Administrator may approve contracts in any amount from State of Florida approved contracts that are awarded for local agencies to use.
• The County Administrator approved the original contract on January 24, 2025, in the not to exceed amount of $1,080,000.00.
• Funding for this agreement is included in the FY26 Budget for departments such as, but not limited to, Solid Waste, Utilities, and Public Works. A total of $170,000 is available in FY26 Budget and $$911,000 is included in the FY27 Proposed Budget. Additional funding is available for operating supplies but not specifically earmarked for Fastenal. As this is a countywide contract, it can be utilized by other departments requiring operating supplies. Approval of the use of any other funds and whether budgetary conditions are met will need to be made on a department-by-department basis. Summary:
This amendment enables County departments to continue purchasing supplies in a cost-effective manner. Fastenal provides competitive pricing on commonly utilized items including, but not limited to operating supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), various tools and equipment needed for Public Works and Utilities operations. Public Works and Utilities departments are the primary users of this contract with lesser historic usage by Construction/Property Management, and Solid Waste.

Current Contract amount: $1,080,000.00
First Amendment increase: $1,100,000.00
Revised Contract amount: $2,180,000.00
