Recommended Action

Approval by the County Administrator to agree to the otherwise unacceptable indemnification language and execute the facility usage agreement between Pinellas County and Calvary Church.

•                     Calvary Church shared a contract requesting us to use their parking lot for next week’s Bayside Bridge renaming ceremony. This event will incur no cost for the county, but their contract includes indemnification language.

•                     We requested they edit the contract to remove the language, but they will not be able to complete the review prior to the scheduled event, so County Attorney recommended we follow the process in Res 06-70 to secure admin approval to agree to the otherwise unacceptable indemnification term.

•                     We assess this as a low-risk event - it will consist of brief spoken remarks at a podium and then unveiling a mockup of the sign. The real sign will be visible behind the event.
