Summary:

This Agreement provides a mechanism for County departments to accept online electronic payments for County goods and services via online credit card processing. This agreement requires the County to indemnify Stripe. The County requested and Stripe will not modify their indemnification language; staff have deemed this low risk due to Stripe’s encryption, tokenization, and third-party detection systems. Stripe does have standard indemnification language for public sector entities which is in this agreement.

Background/Explanation:

Animal Services currently utilizes Clover and has requested to move to Stripe for credit card processing. PCR’s new reservation software is integrated with Stripe as the credit card processor.

Fiscal Impact:

There is no fiscal impact associated with this agreement.

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this agreement and certification statement is granted under Code Section 2-164(a)(3) and County Resolution No. 06-70.
