• This purchase authorization provides a cost-effective mechanism for County departments to rent industrial, construction, maintenance, and operational equipment and tools as needed, including during emergency events.
• Pricing is per the new State of Florida Contract No. 72141700-25-SRCWL-ACS valid through June 11, 2028, with a total contract amount not to exceed amount of $1,392,000.00.
• The state contract has a provision for three one-year renewals, and it allows price adjustments based on the Consumer Price Index.
• The County Administrator has approval authority in any amount on State approved contracts per County Code 2-164(b)(1).
• This purchase authorization is used on an as-needed basis with no obligation to spend the full amount of the contract or to spend in any given year. Funding for this authorization is included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Adopted Budget in multiple Departments in multiple operating and capital funds. This agreement has historically been used by Public Works, Utilities, Construction and Property Management, Solid Waste, Airport, Parks, and Economic Development. Funding for future years is dependent on approval in the annual County Operating Budget.
