Body

Strategic Priorities:

5.2 Be responsible stewards of the public’s resources
5.3 Ensure effective and efficient delivery of County services and support

Summary:

This Amendment realigns $85,000 within the Risk Financing Fund for DAS due to higher than anticipated AED service plan costs. This amendment does not change the total appropriations for the requesting fund as it only realigns funding within the Risk Financing Fund. This amendment has no net fiscal impact on the FY25 Budget.

Background/Explanation:

This Amendment realigns $85,000 within the Risk Financing Fund for DAS due to higher than anticipated AED service plan costs in FY25. New AED devices and service plans were budgeted for in FY25, however, unbeknownst to DAS, the vendor requires service plan renewals every eight years. These additional renewal costs were not known to the new management and therefore not included in the FY25 Budget during development. The total additional expense was $108,000 and DAS has absorbed what could be but is still facing budgetary control.

Funds are available for realignment due to lower than anticipated insurance renewal costs in FY25.

This realignment has no net impact on total appropriations for the Risk Financing Fund.

Fiscal Impact:

Realign $85,000 within the Risk Financing Fund.

This amendment does not change the total appropriations or revenue for the requesting fund as this only realigns within the requesting fund.

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to sign this Administrative Amendment is granted under Florida Statues. In accordance with Section 129.06, F.S., the Board of County Commissioners (Board) may establish procedures by which the designated Budget Officer may authorize certain budget amendments. The Board approved delegation of this authority to the County Administrator with Resolution No. 04-62 on April 13, 2004.
