Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the temporary alcohol waiver for Junction 311 Florida LLC for Oktoberfest 15k, 10k, 5k at Fort De Soto on September 21, 2025.

•                     The beer will be donated by local beer sponsor for numerous events held in Pinellas County, to the Run and Help Foundation, Inc. The beer will be given to the athletes and volunteers at no charge after the race’s conclusion near the finish line.

•                     The beer in cans will be kept iced in coolers and served to runners for consumption.

•                     The beer will be poured by two adults, both of legal drinking age, under direction of Run And Help Foundation, Inc. No one will be served without proper ID proving their age to be 21 or older

•                     Beer will not be provided until 8:00 a.m. and will be cut off no later than 12:00 noon or when the last participants leave Ft. DeSoto Park, whichever comes first. There will be no access to any remaining beer after 12:00 noon.

•                     A small compound will be created within Ft. DeSoto Park, using snow fencing or barricades around an existing pavilion, restricting all beer consumption to be within this compound. We will position at least one volunteer at the entrance to ensure no beer leaves the compound. We will also post a sign at each exit, advising participants that no beer is permitted beyond the compound.

•                     Anyone trying to consume an excessive amount of beer will be denied, though this is unlikely to happen after a race early in the morning. However, it will be monitored closely by race officials and volunteers.Body
