Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the agreement with Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC (Ajax) for the purchase of Asphalt Materials - a Tampa Bay Area Purchasing Cooperative (Cooperative).
• This Cooperative contract is for the annual requirements of Asphalt Materials (pick-up).
• One bid response was received from Ajax for Group 1 - Superpave Asphalt and Emulsion. No bids responses were received for Group 2 - Asphalt Emulsion. The solicitation period was extended for two weeks and all respondents to the prior contract were contacted to ensure adequate attempts for competition.
• The total not-to-exceed amount of County Requirements for this sixty (60) month contract are $1,164,800.00. The annual not-to-exceed amount is $232,960.00.
• This Cooperative contract provides asphalt materials to the Public Works and Utilities Departments and supports the cities of Clearwater, Pinellas Park, and St. Petersburg. Cooperative participants are responsible for issuance of their own awards and funding.
• Funding is included in the FY25 Adopted budget in the Transportation Trust Fund portion of the Public Works Departmental budget. While this is not specifically budgeted in the FY25 Adopted budget in the Utilities Department, other contractual funding is available in Repair and Maintenance in the Water Fund and the Sewer Fund. This is not anticipated to cause a budgetary constraint for Utilities in FY25.
Contract No. 24-0423-ITB in the estimated annual not-to-exceed amount of $232,960.00 for a sixty (60) month not-to-exceed total amount of $1,164,800.00 for sixty (60) months.
