Approval by the County Administrator of Change Order No.1 to the emergency purchase with Cone & Graham Inc. for emergency protective measures at the Lake Seminole concrete weir due to damages caused by Hurricane Helene
• This request is for emergency protective measures related to the failed Lake Seminole concrete weir caused by storm surge from Hurricane Helene.
• The work is being completed as time and materials given the unknowns with the rock layer, the amount of stabilization that will be needed to the temporary sheet pile wall and the removal of the old, failed concrete wall which is becoming difficult to remove.
• The emergency repairs were necessary to stabilize the area to protect Park Boulevard, the box culvert, a 36” sewer force main, a 24” potable water line, and other infrastructure.
• This emergency request is to increase the contract amount by $760,000.00 for a revised not-to-exceed amount of $1,560,000.00.
• Funding for this contract has been made available from reserves for Hurricane Helene recovery. A portion of the costs incurred will likely be offset with reimbursement from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the State of Florida.
