Summary:
The Notice of Site Dedication and Limitation of Use form must be executed and filed in the public property records to remain compliant with the FDEP FRDAP grant agreement signed in 2022. Completing this document will allow the county to be reimbursed for $200,000 of the work completed on the John S. Taylor Park Inclusive Playground once all closeout documents have been submitted to FDEP.
Background/Explanation:
On August 30, 2022, the County entered into a grant agreement with FDEP to replace the aging and scattered play equipment at John S. Taylor Park with a new consolidated play area that is inclusive of ages 2-12. The grant agreement was signed by the County Administrator. The agreement provides the County with $200,000 through a FRDAP grant with a commitment of $200,000 in matching funds from the County. This project was completed on March 28, 2024. To receive the grant reimbursement from FDEP, the “Notice of Site Dedication and Limitation of Use Form” must be executed and filed in the public property records to commit the County to keeping the new playground open and available for public use in accordance with the grant agreement.
Fiscal Impact:
Notice of Site Dedication and Limitation of Use is required by FDEP so the County can be reimbursed $200,000 through FDEP FRDAP grant agreement A3041 at the completion of the grant closeout process. The grant agreement requires an equal match of $200,000 which the County has met with project to date expenditures of $587,196.89.
The John Taylor Park Playground, project 004171B, is a sub-project of the Park Playground Replacement- ADA/Inclusive program, project 004171A.
